There are quite a few differences between car and motorcycle shipping. While a car has a reliable handbrake and four wheels for extra stability a motorcycle is quite different by design having only two wheels amd nothing to keep the bike stationery except the stand. You might think that motorcycle shipping would be cheaper than car shipping because of the difference in size of vehicles but this is rarely the case. The closed carriers that are often used should be specially designed to carry motorcycles and this will mean that there will either be palettes specially designed for the purpose or there will be specially fitted tracks that serve the same purpose. What this means is that a motorcycle basically takes up the same room as a car when it needs to be shipped anywhere.
How expensive is motorcycle shipping?
This is dependant on two main factors. How far you are travelling and what services the company you intend to use has to offer. There are a variety of different services that a shipping company can offer you. You would be better using a specialist motorcycle shipper than a car shipper that offers motorcycle shipping as an extra service. Read the rest of this entry »

With the prosper of car shipping companies around, it has become difficult to discern which is the real deal and which is the scam. Some companies may promise lots of benefits and incredibly low rates, but upon the delivery, additional charges will be asked. As with any business transaction, car shipping must have a contract agreed upon by both parties. This protects the owner from any abuse from the company and for the company as well, to avoid being asked for services that are not inclusive in the payment.
The contract is usually done by the company. Some have standard contracts corresponding to different packages or services. However, a contract may be drafted with the owner of the vehicle, especially if he has special requests or wants specific arrangements. Nonetheless, everything that will be set by the company and agreed upon by the owner must be in writing with both parties furnished a copy each.
Before signing the contract, make sure to read it carefully. Take note as well that as long as the contract is not signed, the car is not to be surrendered to the transport company. If you have verifications or add-ons, talk to the representative in order for such matters to be explained, modified or added. The contract will state the accountability of the company and the costing. Most companies do not indicate a specified date of pickup and delivery. However, if your chosen company did so, use this to your advantage. Since there is a fee for cancelled shipment, you may ask for a waiver of cancellation fee should the company fails to pickup the car within its specified date. If the company provides a guarantee as to a defined delivery date, ask for the cost of this guarantee. Estimated pickup and delivery dates may be secured from the company though. Essentially, a motorcycle trike is a gigantic tricycle with a very powerful engine – for adults only.
If you are drawn to attention, a motorcycle trike is a great choice! Everyone knows what a traditional motorcycle looks like – sleek body, two wheels, and powerful engine. But a motorcycle trike has all that and more – an extra wheel. Any motorcycle trike owner must be prepared to be deluged by a flood of questions from curious onlookers. Here are some of the basics when it comes to motorcycle trikes.
The Cost of a Motorcycle Trike
A motorcycle trike must be custom made, so there is the cost of the motorcycle plus the conversion. In general, an average motorcycle may cost between $15,000 and $20,000. The conversion may cost up to $10,000. Some motorcycle trikes are sold used, so it is possible to purchase one that already exists. Prices of used motorcycle trikes will vary, depending on what the owner asks. When purchasing a motorcycle trike, it is always a good idea to have it professionally inspected by a mechanic.

A hundred years has passed since the collaboration of William Harvey and Andrew Davidson in Milwaukee, USA to reinvent the motorcycle. The pair up has revolutionized the motorcycle world from selling mere utility rigs to selling an awesome lifestyle.
While other companies were just selling regular motorcycles, by creating a biker image, the Harley left its competitors eating dust. Today, Harley Davidson ranks among America’s top growth stocks since its 1986 IPO. It has an annual sales growth of 37% despite suffering some difficulties.
It isn’t hard to understand why the company enjoys the biggest share in the motorcycle market. Owning a Harley is like getting into a brotherhood. Buying a Harley gets you into the Harley Owners Group or HOG as they are fondly called. The Harley legacy still thrives in the fraternity of HOG members.
While the company is reflecting robust earnings, there is some worry about how the company will fare in the next 100 years. It is interesting to note that a considerable percentage of Hog owners are baby boomers enjoying the benefits of their earnings and accomplishments in the 90s. What used to be a niche for young professionals, the HOG drivers are now growing older and its important that the Harley should appeal to younger demographics if they intend to survive the succeeding years.
