WEST LAFAYETTE — When Glenn Emslie took off on his Harley Davidson in 1947, 25 cents filled up his tank.
As he traveled across the country to California, 35 cents got him a meal and for as low as $1.75 he rented a hotel room for a night.
These are the little details Emslie began to share about his cross-country trip that peaked freelance writer Rob Dile’s interest, so much so that Dile wrote Emslie’s story for print.
